Inset Settings

The Inset layer sits between the Cap and the Base. In general it is meant to be only a pixel or two wider than the cap so that it gives the Cap the appearance that it has been set into the base. You can of course adjust the margin so that it is smaller/larger than the Cap. Making the Inset smaller than the Cap and setting the Cap's transparency so it is slightly transparent can result in a fantastic looking button.
